Hello loyal readers,
I know I haven't updated in a while (and I know I start just about every post this way,) but I'm back, and I'm brewing. So, what has happened since I last caught up with you back in february?
~~*wavy lines*~~
OK, so we saw the brewing of Kevin's beer. It turned out terribly. Bottling was cool because we had the 1L easy-cap bottles which are aesthetically pleasing and easy to cap. However, the beer came out super-foamy, and the taste was kinda funky. See Keanen and Kev's Pomegranate Fantasy Recap for an idea of what happened. Kevin, depressed from this failure, entered a life of social reclusivity, but got really really good at an unnamed MMORPG. I have no doubt though that he will be inspired by his new setting to pick up the hydrometer and brew spoon again.
Moving on.
I needed a success after that, so I went back to an old favorite. A simple, delicious, potent IPA recipe. I brewed a similar recipe to this in Winter 2006, way back in my early days of brewing. Since it was before the days of my brew-blog, I only have a short blurb about it in this post. This beer turned out just how I wanted it, and fueled me and my friends through our graduation from college.
So what happens next?
Well, I traveled the world a bit with the brewmistress (Jenny, not that all you avid followers needed to be reminded) and then moved to DC to start a job (yes, like the kind where you go 5/7 days and get paid and all that!). I moved into a house in Columbia Heights with 2 other guys who pretty much flipped at the idea of brewing beer, so all systems go!
We have a pretty aggressive brew schedule, but I'll update future posts on a brew-by-brew basis as I originally planned from the beginning.
Anyway, readers, feel free to subscribe to my RSS feed, because this blog is gonna be bumpin'. I would make some promise about how I'll keep up with it, but in reality, who knows.
